Construction proceeds as standard. Millions of dormant Bacillus bacteria capsules sit inside — invisible, waiting. Each contains bacteria and calcium lactate food source.

Years later a crack forms. Moisture enters. The capsule shell breaks. Bacteria wakes from dormancy and begins feeding on calcium lactate — multiplying rapidly inside the crack.
